SIGNED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON COOPERATION WITH THE DRAKON GROUP IN THE MINE ACTION
On Thursday, 20th July 2023, in the premises of the Mine Action Center of the Republic of Serbia, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the DRAKON Group in the field of mine action was signed.
On behalf of the Mine Action Center of the Republic of Serbia, the Memorandum was signed by the director, Mr. Bojan Glamočlija, and on behalf of the DRAKON group, by the executive director Mr. Alexander Atkins.
The Memorandum envisages the improvement of mutual development cooperation in the field of mine action at the international level, with the aim of mitigating the consequences of war destruction and the dangers posed by cluster munitions, aerial bombs - rockets, mines and other explosive remnants of war left behind after NATO bombing, the First and Second World Wars, as well as during other war events, by means of mine action, according to UN standards and International Standards for Mine Action.
Also, the Memorandum envisages the exchange of experiences on the improvement of the mine action system, cooperation on scientific projects and the development of new technologies, as well as the exchange of capacities, training of personnel and education of the population about the dangers of mines and EOR.
