Demolition of Cluster Munitions Remnants found on Sjenica - Vapa Project and visit to air bomb contaminated sites in Sjenica
On the 21st October 2020, demolition of cluster munitions remnants found on Cluster Munitions Clearance Project for the “Sjenica - Vapa” Site, totalling 338.416 sqm, Sjenica Municipality, was carried out.
In the presence of representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre, demolition of devices found on the area cleared so far was carried out by representatives of the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia.
12 pieces of cluster munitions BLU 97 were demolished.
On this occasion, representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre did also the rounds of the air bomb contaminated sites in the Sjenica Municipality in order to develop air bomb removal projects and submit them to donors iinterested in funding the implementation of the projects.
