INTRODUCTION INTO WORKS FOR „KONČULJ SINGERIT-1“ PROJECT IN BUJANOVAC
On the 15th October, 2020, implementation of Demining Project of the "Končulj-Singerit 1" site, the Municipality of Bujanovac, totaling 269.280 sqm, commenced.
The project has been developed by the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, which will supervise the project implementation and conduct quality control of the works. Contractor is N.G.O. IN Demining, Pale, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project has been financed by the funds of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, allocated for the humanitarian demining operations in the Bujanovac Municipality, and matched through ITF Enhancing Human Security by the donation of the U.S. Government.
Company “Trotil”, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been employed by ITF and a donor as a monitoring organization on this project.
Demining of the location will contribute to an increase of safety of local population and provide possibilities for safe exploitation of forest, cattle grazing and picking of mushrooms, which are one of main sources of an income of local population.
