DEMOLITION OF UXO FOUND ON UXO RISK REDUCTION PROJECT IN THE AREAS OF CONSTRUCTION OF DISTRIBUTION PIPELINE ROUTE RG 09-04 / 2 ALEKSANDROVAC-KOPAONIK-NOVI PAZAR-TUTIN AND SURVEY
On 11 March 2020, on UXO risk reduction project (survey - clearance) in the areas of construction of the distribution pipeline route RG 09-04/2 Aleksandrovac-Kopaonik-Novi Pazar-Tutin, demolition of unexploded ordnance (122 mm grenade with a fuse) was carried out.
Representatives of the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia carried out demolition of found UXO.
On 13 March 2020, SMAC conducted a survey in order to develop project amendment. Given the above UXO finding, as well as the fact that on the route of this project intensive battles were led in the World War Two, significant UXO contamination can be expected. Therefore, due to security reasons, the remaining part of the route will be declared high risk, namely project amendment will be developed, which includes clearance up to a 50 cm depth (BAC), upon which depth scanning of the terrain will be continued.
