RECEPTION ON THE OCCASION OF THE STATEHOOD DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA
At the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Belgrade, on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Korea - September 29, Serbian Mine Action Centre attended the reception.
Ambassador Lee Jaewoong welcomed the guests - representatives of the political, cultural and public scene of Serbia, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps. In his speech, the Ambassador, among other things, congratulated Serbia on receiving the hosting for the Specialized International Exhibition in 2027, emphasizing that he firmly believes that Korea will host the EXPO in Busan in 2030.
The Republic of Korea, as a reliable and sincere partner of our country, provides support to Serbia in the field of humanitarian demining.
Since 2018, thanks to donations from the Republic of Korea, several mine clearance and cluster munitions clearance projects have been implemented by SMAC.
In 2023, also with the support from the Republic of Korea, several SMAC projects will be implemented.
By implementing clearance projects, the conditions for increasing the safety of the population are achieved and the safe use of blocked resources is enabled.
SMAC congratulates the holiday and uses this opportunity to thank the Republic of Korea for the assistance provided.
