COMMENCEMENT OF WORKS ON UXO CLEARANCE PROJECTS FOR "SLOBODA ČAČAK 7" SITE AND "SLOBODA ČACAK 8" SITE
Implemention of UXO clearance projects for "Sloboda Čačak 7" site and "Sloboda Čacak 8" site, which SMAC developed at the request of company "Sloboda", a.d. Čačak, commenced on September 1, 2023.
SMAC representatives inspected the documentation and equipment that will be used, after which contractor "Millennium Team" ltd., Belgrade, was introduced into works.
The area to be cleared at the "Sloboda 7" site is located within the compound of company "Sloboda" a.d. Čačak, while the area to be cleared at the "Sloboda 8" site is outside the company's compound. In June 2021, as a result of a fire and explosion, there was a scattering of UXO in and outside the factory.
In the previous period, also at the request of company "Sloboda" a.d. Čačak, which is also the investor of the works, SMAC developed 6 clearance projects at sites where UXO was scattered after the explosion and fire.
After clearing UXO from these sites, danger they pose, first of all, to people and the environment will be eliminated and it will contribute to increasing the safety of residents and creating opportunities for safe use of agricultural land.
