PARTICIPATION OF SMAC IN CELEBRATION OF 20TH WORK ANNIVERSARY OF MINE DETECTION DOG CENTER IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

An important jubilee, 20 years of existence and work of Mine Detection Dog Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina – MDDC, was marked in Sarajevo on May 17.

On that occasion, thanks to the successful cooperation of the Serbian Mine Action Centre with the Mine Detection Dog Center in BiH, the guests at this ceremony were representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre.

A number of successfully implemented projects and results were presented, and at the same time, this was an opportunity for the MDDC and the SMAC to further improve relations and exchange experiences for the sake of contributing to a more effective and faster solution to problems related to demining in Serbia, and thus to the improvement of the regional cooperation.

MDDC is a non-governmental organization active in 11 countries around the world, specialized in the training of mine detection dog teams and other service dogs, implementation of land release projects, mine awareness and mine victims assistance. Over a 20 year period, the MDDC has created the capacity and capability to efficiently and economically conduct mine action operations.

We take the opportunity to once again congratulate our dear colleagues on their first twenty years, with the wish that in the coming decades their work is characterized by great experience, dedication and development in the field of mine and UXO clearance operations.
