April 4 - International day of mine awareness and assistance in mine action
On the occasion of April 4th - the International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, a meeting with explosive remnants of war (ERW) victims was organized in the extended business facilities of SMAC in Grocka, in the presence of the media.
In order to enhance overall mine action in the Republic of Serbia, focusing on this occasion on the segment of victim assistance, SMAC wanted to draw the public attention to the needs and possibilities of persons affected by ERW, as well as to the importance of their inclusion in all spheres of social life.
SMAC and the Republic of Serbia remain committed to the implementation of mine action activities aimed at improving the position and rights of ERW victims.
We are also committed to completely solving the problem of the impact of mines and ERW in the Republic of Serbia, given that they still pose a threat to human safety and the environment, thus preventing safe exploitation of forests, cultivation of land, farming, as well as the implementation of vital infrastructure projects.
