"THE MARSHALL LEGACY INSTITUTE" GALA DINNER
On the occasion of the celebration of 25 years of land clearance from mines and explosive remnants of war, at the invitation of the US organization "The Marshall Legacy Institute", the Mine Action Centre of Republic of Serbia attended the donor Gala dinner, held on October 19, 2022, in Washington, USA.
The Gala dinner was attended by the director of the Mine Action Centre, Mr. Bojan Glamočlija, assistant director Mrs. Jelena Krstić, representatives of donors, international humanitarian organizations, as well as representatives of mine action centres from all over the world.
The Marshall Legacy Institute is an organization that, among other things, implements mine action programs to provide countries, threatened by mines and explosive remnants of war, with the resources and training they need, to demine their territory and deal with the long-term impacts of mines and explosive remnants of war.
The Gala dinner honored distinguished individuals who have participated in The Marshall Legacy Institute's programs and whose dedication has helped communities recover from war and who give hope to those suffering from the destabilizing effects of landmines and explosive remnants of war. Among them are a MDD team from Azerbaijan, a mine victim from Yemen, a student of the "Children Against Mines" program, a teacher of the "Peace through Sport" program.
The Mine Action Centre of Republic of Serbia thanks the organization "The Marshall Legacy Institute" for the invitation, and once again congratulates on the results achieved in the previous 25 years of clearing the land of mines and explosive remnants of war.
