MEETING WITH US EMBASSY REPRESENTATIVE
On the 23rd August, 2022, Serbian Mine Action Centre Director, Mr Bojan Glamočlija, held an introductory meeting with the US Embassy representative, Mr Adnan Mirza.
During the meeting, the SMAC Director briefed the US Embassy representative about the current situation regarding mines, cluster munitions, aerial bombs and other unexploded ordnance remaining in the territory of Serbia, as well as about the needs and priorities of our country in the field of humanitarian demining and mine action as a whole.
The SMAC Director expressed gratitude for the continued support provided by the U.S. to the Republic of Serbia in solving problems related to mines and explosive remnants of war ever since the SMAC foundation.
On this occasion, he expressed his hope that further engagement and intensification of cooperation between the SMAC and the US Embassy will give a new impulse to the development of mine action in Serbia, which will contribute to the achievement of even better results in this area as one of the most important sectors for human security and further social and economic development, and at the same time it will contribute to the enhancing of the relations between the two countries.
