Participation of SMAC at Explosive Ordnance Seminar in Budva
SMAC is participating at the Explosive Ordnance Seminar, which is being held from 24 to 26 May 2022, in Budva, Montenegro, organized by Intelligence - Sec, British company specialized in organizing conferences in the field of security industry and in partnership with the Rescue and Protection Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro.
This seminar is attended by mine action experts, donor representatives, representatives of international humanitarian organizations, UN, NATO, OSCE, representatives of demining centers from Southeast Europe, representatives of manufacturers of demining machines and equipment, protective equipment for deminers - deminers and other supporting equipment and tools related to demining.
The following topics are discussed:
- Diplomacy and demining or diplomacy as a tool regarding explosive ordnance;
- Civil EOD operations and capacities;
- Underwater EOD operations;
- EOD and demining training;
- Military capacities and EOD operations at home and overseas;
- Humanitarian operations and support.
As a part of the field presentation, demining equipment will be presented and the operation of machines will be demonstrated.
On the first day, SMAC Director, Mr Bojan Glamočlija made a presentation entitled "Demining operations in the Republic of Serbia and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities with reference to the EU-funded project and the use of drones in demining" in which he presented current clearance projects in the Republic of Serbia, technology used by contractors, as well as the challenges they face.
