SMAC PARTICIPATION AT 18TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM MINE ACTION 2022
Тhe Serbian Mine Action Centre participated in the work of the 18th International Symposium - Mine Action 2022, which was held from 02 to 04 May 2022 in Vodice, Republic of Croatia, and organized by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Mine Action Centre – Centre for Testing, Development and Training.
The Symposium was attended by experts in the field of mine action, representatives of donors, representatives of international humanitarian organizations (GICHD, ITF Enhancing Human Security, NPA B&H, OSCE, etc.), representatives of mine action centres from the Southeast Europe, representatives of manufacturers of demining machines and equipment, protective equipment for deminers and other demining related equipment and tools (DOK-ING Ltd., Vallon GmbH, CEIA S.p.A., FAE Group S.p.A., JAKUSZ Sp. z o.o., GCS AG VIP2 d.o.o).
Experiences and opinions were exchanged on the following topics:
- Standardization of training in the field of mine action
- Research and development within mine action
- Land release – best practice
SMAC Director Bojan Glamočlija, within the topic Standardization of training in the field of mine action, gave a presentation entitled An Approach to Defining Mine Action Training in the Republic of Serbia, which was developed in cooperation with the lecturers from the Military Academy of the University of Defence.
