Commencement of UXO Clearance Project for EDePRO 1- C2 site
The implementation of the UXO Clearance Project for EDePRO 1- C2 site, which was developed by the Serbian Mine Action Centre based on the request of company EDePRO ltd., began on 29 March 2022, with the introduction of contractor PMC Engineering ltd., Belgrade, into works.
The site is located on the territory of the Municipality of Grocka - the outskirts of Leštane. The contamination was caused by extraordinary events that happened in November 2021, when due to fire and explosion, UXO was scattered inside and outside the company "EDePRO" ltd.
Upon completion of clearance, the danger that UXO pose to employees of company "EDePRO" ltd. and the environment will be eliminated. It will also contribute to an increase of safety of all residents and creating opportunities for safe reconstruction of warehouses and all damaged facilities.
