Quality Control in Accpordance with ERW Clearance Project for the Expressway - Ib of the state Road No. 21, Novi Sad - Ruma ,,Fruška Gora Corridor” Site
On February the 3rd, as a follow up activity of the implementation of the ERW Clearance Project for the Expressway - Ib of the state Road No. 21, Novi Sad – Ruma, “Fruška Gora Corridor” Site, the Serbian Mine Action Centre conducted quality control of the works in accordance with Phase 4 of the Project, which include the use of borehole method.
The Borehole method is used to locate underground anomalies, and is carried out before the start of construction work to ensure that all holes in the area are safe for further use.
Special probes are used to record and collect data, which are lowered vertically into previously prepared holes, while the data is constantly read until the entire depth of the hole is passed.
As a result of applying the borehole method, the user receives GPS coordinates that show the location of existing anomalies (unexploded ordnance, sewers, gas pipelines, etc.), which helps to prevent possible incidents and damage in the further phase of construction works.
On this occasion, the control did not establish any critical errors defined by this Project.
The Contractor continues the works in coordination with SMAC.
