 Presentation of Ammunition Management Advisory Team of Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining in Čačak

On the16th September 2021, in the premises of Joint Stock Company Sloboda, Čačak, in cooperation with Serbian Mine Action Centre, presentation of the Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT) of the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) was held. On the occasion, AMAT presented their work and possibilities related to the accident that happened in June this year in the Sloboda company, in Čačak.

AMAT has been represented by the experts with an extensive experience and expertise in the field of weapon and ammunition management, unplanned explosions, as well as capacity building for physical security and stockpile management.

Among the attendees were representatives of the Ministry of Defense, Military Academy of the University of Defense, Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior, as well as representatives of defense industry factories and other stakeholders.

After the presentation, the guests from Geneva had the opportunity to attend the introduction of contractor "Millennium Team" ltd. into works according to UXO Clearance Project for "Sloboda Čačak 1" site, which, at the request of the Sloboda company, Čačak, as an investor of clearance works, was developed by Serbian Mine Action Centre.

Also, during the visit, the AMAT delegation went to see expanded business capacities of SMAC, i.e. teaching premises with ground and site for training of deminers in Grocka.
