Completion of works on
Borovac 4 project
03rd August 2021 saw the final quality control of the area cleared in accordance with Cluster Munitions Clearance Project for Borovac 4 Site, totalling 108.961 sqm, Municipality of Bujanovac. No critical errors were identified, which provided conditions for the completion of field works.
The project was funded by the US State Department donation through ITF Enhancing Human Security.
The works were carried out by N.G.O. IN Demining, Pale, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the monitoring organization engaged by the donor and ITF was ,Trotil” ltd., Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the implementation of the works, 1 piece of cluster munitions BLU 97 and 1 piece of UXO were found and safely destroyed.
The implementation of this project eliminated dangers posed by cluster munitions to locals and the environment. At the same time, clearance completion will enable optimal cultivation of agricultural land, which is of great importance for the locals oriented to agriculture and cattle breeding
