As a follow up to the meetings in the previous period with representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior - Sector for Emergency Management, Technical Overhaul Institute Kragujevac, as well as representatives of defence industry factories, on the 2nd August 2021, at the invitation of SLOBODA Joint Stock Company in Čačak, representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre, together with representatives of the Technical Overhaul Institute Kragujevac, visited a site contaminated with various types of explosive remnants of war, after fire and explosion that occurred on the 04th and 19th June 2021, in SLOBODA Company in Čačak.
In order to develop a project that will eliminate the consequences of the accident that occurred in this defense industry factory, SMAC, within its scope of works, conducted a survey of the above area.
For the purpose of clear and visual warning, as well as banning the population from entering the area suspected to be contaminated with explosive remnants of war (ERW), SMAC marked this area.
In the previous period, the Technical Overhaul Institute Kragujevac, also, with appropriate warning signs, warned the citizens of ERW danger.
SMAC appeals to everyone to behave responsibly and do not enter marked area, thus preventing undesirable events to occur.
