This project has been developed in order to create conditions for safe and stable electricity supply to residents in the Municipality of Bujanovac, which, along with creating conditions for increasing safety of locals and transmission line maintenance workers, is invaluable for this underdeveloped part of the Republic of Serbia.

The project is funded by the US through ITF Enhancing Human Security.

Sites through which the 10kV and 110kV transmission lines pass in the territory of the Municipality of Bujanovac are contaminated with anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, improvised explosive devices and other explosive remnants of war (ERW), therfore the implementation of this project will also contribute to fulfilling the obligations of the Republic of Serbia undertaken by the AP Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Convention).
