ICDO Representatives Visited ERW Clearance Sites
"Dubnica" and "Military depot 1"
On the 14th July 2021, Serbian Mine Action Center organized a visit to clearance sites on the projects for clearance of explosive remnats of war at the ,,Dubnica,, and ,,Military depot 1,, site, municipality Vranje, for the representatives of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) - investor of clearance works.
During the visit, the attendees had the opportunity to get acquainted with the clearance results and the specificity of this project on which works are conducted by company "Millennium Team" ltd., Belgrade.
As a reminder, ICDO provides assistance of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia in the area of humanitarian demining, based on the Agreement on Cooperation between the Serbian Mine Action Centre and International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) for the period 2019-2022, which was signed on the 5th December 2019.
We emphasize the importance of the Russian Federation's assistance through ICDO for the implementation of these projects, given that after clearing these locations the danger that ERW poses to people and the environment will be eliminated and it will contribute to increase the safety of residents and create opportunities for safe land use, forest exploitation, as well as infrastructure and development.
