Completion of Demining Project of the part of transmission line route in Bujanovac
On 16 August 2019, the Mine Action Centre conducted the final quality control of demining works on Demining Project of the part of the route of transmission line 1140/2 Power Substation Bujanovac-Power Substation Berivojce, the Municipality of Bujanovac, totalling 18,410 sqm, which created the conditions for completion of works in the terrain.
During the implementation of this project, contractor PMC Engineering d.o.o. Belgrade, which carried out demining works in the terrain, found 2 anti-personnel mines (1 piece of PMA-1 and 1 piece of PMA-2). The destruction of the mines found was carried out by an expert team of the Sector for Emergency Situations.
As a reminder, the implementation of the above project was financed by the Joint Stock Company "Elektromreža Srbije" - Transmission System Maintenance Division, Belgrade.
Demining of this site, contributes, first of all, to an increase of safety of the employees of "Elektromreža Srbije" and to creation of conditions for the safe maintenance of part of the 1140/2 TS Bujanovac - TS Berivojce route, but also to an increase of safety of the local population, environmental protection and fire protection.
