On March 31, 2021, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) first part of a two-part webinar series that build on key findings outlined in GICHD recently published ‘Review of New Technologies and Methodologies for EORE in Challenging Contexts’ was hosted.

The first part of the webinar "Digging Deeper through Behavior Change" pointed out the importance of risk perception, clarity related to protective behaviors, key groups that should be exposed to education - women, children, parents, as well as open access and joint work with target groups.

Furthermore, the panelists, among whom, in addition to the GICHD representatives, were representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the World Health Organization (WHO), presented how innovation in other sectors can enrich EORE practice.

In the Republic of Serbia, where there are areas contaminated with mines and ERW, explosive remnants of war risks are big. They, in particular, impact civilian population and children. Education is needed to minimize undesirable events and to alleviate their effects as much as possible.
