Commencement of works according to ERW clearance
project of areas in the zone of the bridge at
Sremska Rača and along planned route of
Belgrade - Sarajevo highway,
Sremska Rača - Kuzmin section
Implementation of ERW clearance Project of the areas in the zone of the bridge at Sremska Rača and along planned route of the Belgrade - Sarajevo highway, section Sremska Rača – Kuzmin, No. 0226/20, commenced on March 8, 2021, by introducing contractor "Millennium Team" Ltd., Belgrade, and subcontractor ARM Razminiranje Ltd., Belgrade, into works.
The project was made in accordance with the request of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, as a financier and Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" as an investor in the construction of a road bridge over the Sava River at Sremska Rača, within the construction of the highway to Sarajevo, section Sremska Rača - Kuzmin.
The area that needs to be cleared of ERW is located on the territory of the municipalities of Kuzmin, Bosut and Sremska Rača - water area where a road bridge over the Sava River at Sremska Rača will be built, as well as the area where the highway to Sarajevo will be built, Sremska Rača - Kuzmin section.
The total area, including watercourses and intersections with watercourses and roads, to be cleared of ERW is 1,939,000 sqm.
Upon clearance of ERW from these areas, the danger they pose for the construction of the highway to Sarajevo, Sremska Rača - Kuzmin section, will be removed.
This will create conditions for safe implementation of the road infrastructure project, which is for our country of an extreme importance since it will contribute to regional connectivity.
