Bujanovac site visit with
potential offerors
On the 24th February 2021, in cooperation with the Serbian Mine Action Centre and ITF Enhancing Human Security, as part of the tender procedure for the selection of contractors for cluster munitions clearance projects from the "Borovac-3" and "Borovac-4" sites, Bujanovac Municipality, as well as the mine clearance project for 10 kV and 110 kV transmission line route in the territory of the Bujanovac Municipality, a visit to these sites was organized with potential Offerors.
Potential Offerors had the opportunity to see in the field the complexity and difficulty of mine and cluster munition clearance operations, for which SMAC developed projects and ITF, which will conduct tender procedures for the selection of contractors, provided funds by the Government of the United States of America.
Implementation of these projects will eliminate danger for people and the environment, namely, it will enable safe exploitation of forests, cattle breeding, mushroom collecting, as well as safe maintenance of the transmission line and secure and stable electricity supply, which is all for the population of this underdeveloped part of the Republic of Serbia of an invaluable importance.
SMAC would like to extend its gratitude to ITF and the US Embassy for being a reliable partner and donor, as well as appreciation for their continued support and commitment to solving the problems related to explosive remnants of war in the Republic of Serbia.
