Meeting with representatives of Quality Solutions
International Ltd (QSI)
On the 9th November, in the premises of Serbian Mine Action Centre, a meeting was held with representatives of the New Zealand based independent consultancy Quality Solutions International Ltd (QSI). Since 2007, this company has been conducting assessments of ITF/US-funded demining organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year, within the overall assessment, ITF has requested that they also visit demining organisations in Serbia participating at ITF/US –funded tenders, as well as our Mine Action Centre.
On this occasion, director of SMAC, Mr Bojan Glamočlija pointed out the current situation regarding ERW in the Republic of Serbia, the problems and challenges that the Republic of Serbia is facing in the field of mine action, especially referring to the problem of lack of deminers and the need to train appropriate personnel.
Mr Hemi Morete, Managing Director of QSI, thanked for the reception and expressed hope that through consideration of all directions of work of SMAC, ways for further cooperation might be found.
