Commencement of Demining Project at Končulj Singerit site in Bujanovac
On July 30, 2019, commenced the implementation of Demining Project of the "Končulj-Singerit" site, the Municipality of Bujanovac, totaling 198,600 sqm.
The project has been developed by the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, which will supervise the project implementation and conduct quality control of the works. Contractor is "Stop Mines" Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project has been financed by the funds of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, allocated for the humanitarian demining operations in the Bujanovac Municipality, and matched through ITF Enhancing Human Security by the donation of the US State Department and the donation of the Republic of Korea.
Company “Eksploring”, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been employed by ITF and donors as a monitoring organization on this project.
Demining of the location will contribute to an increase of safety of local population and provide possibilities for safe exploitation of forest, cattle grazing and picking of mushrooms, which are one of main sources of an income of local population.
