COMMENCEMENT OF PROJECT FOR DEMINING - CLEARING OF CLUSTER MUNITION FROM LOCATION "BOROVAC - 5", IN BUJANOVAC
On November 10, 2022, the implementation of the Project for demining - clearing of cluster munitions from the location "Borovac - 5", number 0256/21, municipality of Bujanovac, area of 281,169m2, began.
The work is carried out by the NGO "IN Demining", Pale, Republika Srpska - Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the monitoring organization, which was hired by the donor and the ITF, is the company "Eksploring" d.o.o., Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The funds were provided by a donation from the USA, through the ITF International Foundation for Enhancing Human Security.
After the demining-clearing of these locations, the primary danger of cluster munitions for the local population will be eliminated, and at the same time, the safe and optimal use of land and pastures will be enabled, which is of great importance for the local population, which is oriented towards agriculture and cattle breeding.
We remind, that in 2021, at the location bordering the "Borovac 5" project, two projects for demining - clearing of cluster munitions, "Borovac 3" and "Borovac 4" were implemented.
