VISIT TO THE BUREAU OF MILITARY POLITICAL AFFAIRS OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT AND THE EMBASSY OF RЕPUBLIC OF SERBIA IN THE USA
During a visit to Washington, USA, the director of the Мine Action Centre, Mr. Bojan Glamočlija and assistant director Ms. Jelena Krstić held a meeting with representatives of the State Department's Bureau of Military-Political Affairs. At the meeting, the results so far and possible directions for further cooperation between the two institutions were discussed. The Director of the Center expressed the hope that further involvement and intensification of cooperation with the Bureau of Military-Political Affairs of the State Department will give a new momentum to the development of mine action in the Republic of Serbia.
Representatives of the Mine Action Centre also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Washington, USA. During the meeting, the director of the Center informed the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia about the cooperation with the United States of America so far on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, in the area of mine action. He also presented the current situation regarding the explosive remnants of war, which are still on the territory of Serbia, as well as the needs and priorities of our country in mine action.
The Mine Action Center uses this opportunity to thank the US Embassy in Belgrade as one of the most important partners and donors in the field of humanitarian demining in the Republic of Serbia and to express hope for deepening cooperation in the future.
